Bask in the beauty of the outdoors by going camping at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center, which offers rental cottages and lodges, a putt-putt golf course and plenty of hiking trails. If you don’t want to sleep outside overnight, parks like the Ripley City Park or the Mill Creek Water Trail are great alternatives. The Ripley City Park offers picnic shelters, a pool with waterslide, a new gazebo, playground, basketball court, baseball field and lighted tennis courts.. There is also an impressive trail you’ll want to explore that stretches 20 miles from Ripley to Cottageville.
Downtown Ripley is well-preserved with historical architecture from the 1800s through the 1930s. The Clerc-Carson House is a particularly well-known tourist site. Built back in the 1880s, the unique design is a site worth viewing. The Staats Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1887 and provides a lovely view at Cedar Lakes.
Whether you’re in the mood for movies, music or seasonal performances, the Alpine Theatre, a fixture of the town since the 1930s, is the place to go. For an entertaining night out, grab a seat at the Alpine Theatre.
